Mike Beller is the Chief Scientist at UStreet, applying AI and Quant Finance technologies to make financial advice available and accessible to everyone.Mike has over 35 years of experience in financial technology, big data, electronic trading, quant trading and telecommunications technology. As CTO of Tradeworx, Inc, he architected, built, and operated low-latency systems trading billions of dollars of equities on a daily basis. Ultimately, his systems touched 3% of the US equities markets for over a decade. At Thesys Technologies, he architected the MIDAS system -- the cloud-based Big Data system now used by the US Securities and Exchange Commission to monitor tens of billions of daily market data messages in real time. As CEO of Thesys Group, he presided over the winning and the initial build of the Consolidated Audit Trail project -- ultimately the world’s largest, secure, cloud-based financial database, processing over 100 billion highly sensitive financial records per day. This extremely high-profile project was widely covered in the press and led to extensive media and political experience for Mike in his role as CEO. Mike was selected for the Institutional Investor Trading Tech Top 40 in 2018.Before Tradeworx/Thesys, Mike co-founded PenVision, Inc, a mobile field force automation company, developing large-scale innovative mobile computing solutions for brand-name customers such as Telecom Italia and Bristol-Meyers Squibb.Mike began his career as a researcher at Bell Communications Research, and has publications, and was awarded patents, for his work on the development of cryptographic key-exchange protocols optimized for mobile communications environments.
