At Erise IP, I drafted and reviewed patent applications, Office Action Responses, and patentability reports. I also assisted with invalidity/infringement opinions and Inter-Parties Review (IPR) petitions.

At Lathrop & Gage, I drafted and prosecuted patents, analyzed patentability, and performed research for patent landscape, invalidity, and infringement issues, mainly in fields related to aircraft manufacturing, composite materials, aerospace vehicle design and performance, robotics, control systems, magnetic detection/imaging, medical diagnostics, and semiconductor and photovoltaic devices.

At MBio, I worked with a small team to develop disposable fluidic devices for point-of-care diagnosis of infectious diseases. My role included feasibility testing, rapid prototyping, troubleshooting, and reliability testing in a GMP, ISO:13485 certified environment. I was responsible for coordinating product development efforts between Engineering, Biochemistry, Manufacturing, and Regulatory.

At Codexis, I helped develop biocatalysts for generating biofuels and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. My responsibilities included managing a small team, developing high-throughput assays and overseeing their implementation, characterizing enzymes and strains, and analyzing data. My strongest attribute in this position was my ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data and clearly communicate them.

As a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, I studied antibiotic resistance mechanisms of bacterial biofilms, developed a high-throughput microfluidic system for biofilm screening, and explored technology for tracking cancer using bacterial magnetite and MRI.

As a graduate student with BioServe Space Technologies, I helped design, build, test and integrate three payloads for microbiology experiments that flew onboard the International Space Station.
