Joining the MoJ Sustainability Team at a really exciting (albeit challenging!), as we work to complete and publish our Net Zero Carbon Strategy, whilst expanding the team, and taking all opportunities to make further emission reduction impacts. My priorities have included supporting production of our NZC Strategy, Submitting applications for BEIS heat decarbonisation funding (successfully for more than £3.5Million), and working with partners to increase knowledge of our sizable estate and establish emission reduction priorities accordingly.

Having been approached to provide independent Sustainability support to Tewkesbury Borough Council in early 2020, I was commissioned to produce a carbon baseline and 10 year action plan to support their commitment to achieving Operational Carbon Neutrality across their Estate by 2030. With baseline and action plan adopted by Full Council in July '20 I was retained to support first year implementation. We have recently secured >£250k decarbonisation funding to implement the first of a number of priority actions.During this period I applied for and was offered a position within the Ministry of Justice Sustainability Team as a Sustainable Development Manager. During my first 6 months we are finalising the departments Net Zero Carbon Strategy, producing numerous site specific NZC Plans, and working to implement a successful >£3.5Million BEIS decarbonisation project I led on submitting. Exciting times ahead on all fronts!

Delighted to move into hands-on leadership role with the GVCSA, working to enable the Voluntary and Community Sector to maximise opportunities across Gloucestershire to continue enhancing the impact and profile of their excellent work. Currently with around 400 VCS members of the 2,700+ registered charities in Gloucestershire we are continuing to strengthen partnerships between both the VCS and Public Sector as well as between local organisations. In doing so we strive to ensure increased access to and security of the vital services provided across our region.

Following 12 years employment at Severn Wye I was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in January 2016. Now with overarching responsibility for our outputs and financial stability, I lead our Senior Management Team to ensure we build on previous activity and increase our impact in the key sectors of: Domestic; Education; Community and Business. With a team of 40 staff and 9 Trustees, we are very excited about creating even more opportunities to provide support for those most in need, by focusing on issues around Affordable Warmth, alleviation of Fuel Poverty, emissions reduction, increasing educational awareness and SME resilience in Gloucestershire, surrounding regions and throughout Wales.

I manage a small team of sustainable energy experts providing technical and user support to Commercial organisations. In addition to this I manage multiple projects with Local Authorities and a long term project with the prison service. I also have responsibility for staff time planning, and new project development. I am currently also overseeing the project delivery of our Education and Training team
