Mike has been involved with the Mount Pearl Sport Alliance since 2007 when he established a lifestyle education program for community sport groups, and in 2011 became Business Manager for the non-profit organization. Much of Mike's work involves building relationships and partnerships that support healthy youth development through sport. Mike's career spans more than thirty years in community recreation, provincial fitness, recreation and sport, and the YMCA/YWCA where he served as Executive Director for 20 years.The Sport Alliance is comprised of thirteen youth sport groups with a common interest in the development and delivery of high quality community based programs. Cooperative activities may also involve associate members, schools and the business community. The City is the primary partner in creating and sustaining the Alliance model.
