Schedule, coordinate, and manage all aspects of engineering activities to design and build specification and regulation compliant locomotives. Prepare and present project status to executive management team. • Technical lead on $51M new development project that integrated two Tier 4 2,700 hp high speed diesel engines, two engine driven alternators, and inverter powered auxiliary and head end power loads installed on a refurbished locomotive frame.• Supervised engineering design team consisting of direct and contract employees which included managing mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering task assignments, work priorities, and scheduling conflicts for team within matrix organization.• Addressed concerns and requests of project management, customer, and equipment suppliers to maximize reliability of locomotive systems and minimize maintenance cost and out of service time for the customer at minimal project cost.

Responsible for design, development, and validation of new cast and cast/forge aluminum suspension components for automotive OEM applications. Designed suspension components and hot side tooling geometry using surface and solid modeling CAD techniques. Incorporated casting and forging process improvements into designs to allow validation with mold flow and forging flow software. Responsible for selecting purchased components to ensure functionality with end item assembly.• Created test plans, DFMEA, and APQP design reviews per QS-9000 requirements.• Validated operation of control arm bushing and ball joint assembly equipment to verify position of pressed in components met requirements and assembly processes correlated with calculated values.
