Having been an animal lover all my life I decided to use my radio show as a force for good to help these beautiful, loving creatures. I wanted to help speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, so in the 1970's I began inviting local animal shelters and rescue groups to join me on the air at least once a week to showcase an animal that deserved a good home--I called the feature "Tuesdays' Friend"; as we held it every Tuesday. I was blessed to work with loving organizations in Denver, Austin, Salt Lake City, Providence, Des Moines and in Delaware - and with the internet came another way to help animals when we placed their pictures and story on our website. I'm glad and proud that now nearly every radio station coast-to-coast has some animal adoption feature. MyFourLeggedKids.com offers free links to the major national and international groups that save animals, and we use our Facebook page to promote local groups who do the same.
