About Mike Cairnes

My story started many years ago when our third child was diagnosed with Autism which spawned a lifetime journey of learning and appreciation for the clinicians and teachers who have supported him.Meanwhile, I pursued a career that eventually brought me to senior levels of multi-billion dollar businesses where eventually I became President of Michaels leading its affiliate businesses, most notably we turned Michaels into the largest framer in the world. Then I took on a turnaround opportunity as the CEO of Kirklands, a home decor retailer, where we significantly grew the value of the business. The one common thread of success was creating a clear, winning vision and a purposeful, joyful culture.And now, in the ABA world with JoyBridge Kids, it's more important than ever to manifest a game changing culture because our kids and clinicians depend on it. At the same time, when you have a growing company, you have a wonderful opportunity to grow leaders. I love this team and love where it's going! Board Director that actively participates on two Boards that I am passionate about:- Chairman of the Board, BrightStone where we are rapidly expanding our day program for adults with special needs and abilities, as well as expand residential opportunities.- Board Director, Special Olympics TN where I chair the bid committee to bring the 2030 USA Games to Nashville.
