I spent one year working with the Zanzibar Elimination of Schistosomiasis Transmission (ZEST) project on the islands of Unguja and Pemba, Tanzania. This research study is divided into three arms, working in 45 villages on each island. I worked with the Behavioral Intervention component. My responsibilities included:• Led the development of an interview guide and conducted 30 Swahili-language interviews with Madrassa teachers• Led the creation of a Swahili-language script and worked with Tanzanian co-workers to create a 30-minute Schistosomiasis educational video for use in schools • Assisted in the design and construction of laundry washing platforms to encourage people to wash away from infected water bodies• Independently created and maintained a database in Excel for monitoring data related to the behavioral intervention
