I really enjoyed getting the opportunity to design, build from scratch and support a new Exchange 2010 infrastructure to include multi-site H/A, and Archiving, while planning how we would do 2013, and learning other "connected" products, like Lync, MobileIron, 3BClean and Accellion.

A short project. I got to help do migrations from Lotus Notes Domino to Exchange 2010.

I got to design and build, and then own the new Exchange 2010 environment, including the migration of 4500 mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. I got to design and build new BES servers and implement ProofPoint.

Migrated thousands of users from GroupWise and Exchange 5.5 to Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000. Took ownership of the email integration and migration of numerous acquisitions, and of the migration and integration of NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 messaging environments into our Win2003/Ex2003 Active Directory environment and the retirement of legacy systems belonging to acquisitions.

Lead numerous projects, performing migration of Novell GroupWise to Exchange 2000, including the co-existence and migration planning, designing and creating Win2000-AD and Exchange 2000 environments, and migrating users and their mail from GroupWise to AD and Exchange 2000.Designed new Win2K Active Directory environments with Exchange 2000 and planned the migration from both Exchange 5.5 and Novell NDS/GroupWise to the new Win2K/Active Directory network, and migrated users into AD/Exchange 2000.Did in-depth audits and analysis of existing NT 4.0/Exchange 5.5 deployments, , analyzed performance, configurations, backups and service pack levels, disaster recoverability, evaluated virus protection and site replication. Recommended changes to implement best practices to stabilize and standardize messaging environments.

From the made up "title" you can guess it was a lot smaller company back then, and we wore a lot of hats. With 3 stores in the spring of '94, (and shooting for 5) it became clear that product storage and bicycle assembly would need to be done at a separate facility, as the St. Louis Park store was not equipped for that kind of volume or storage, and that distribution of bikes, parts and accessories was not practical from there. We created a temporary assembly facility in a large rented storage space, and then found and created the new center of operations... the Bloomington Warehouse. Erik's now has 22 locations.
