With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Chen has led and expanded consulting, cloud, and AI businesses throughout the Greater China region. As a sales executive and industry specialist, Mike supervised the business development team at IBM China for over 15 years, specializing in the automotive, industrial, and consumer goods sectors. Through highly innovative and expansive collaboration, he was able to break through numerous top brand customers. In addition to his background in sales, Mike has 10 years of expertise in leadership and people management. Additionally, Mike has a practical, in-depth understanding of cloud strategy, cloud migration, developing cloud-native applications, incubating data and AI businesses, and building machine learning platforms. To name a few accomplishments, Mike joined the IBM global sales “Tiger Team” while living abroad in the USA, where he gained experience in closing big deals (those worth more than $100 million). Mike oversaw the China automotive industry BD team from 2016 to 2020, increasing revenue from $10 million to $100 million annually, beaten IBM’s biggest 2 competitors from ranked 3 to No. 1 in the market. The automotive sector is currently IBM China's largest industry. Mike fully utilized his prior consulting and sales experience to dive into a variety of industries (media & entertainment, e-commerce, banking, real estate, retail & consumer products, automotive, etc.) during his start-up experience at S as the co-leader of ToB Head. He developed more than 100 distinct AI use cases and incubated many SaaS products that were industry-specific. Mike led the team in pursuing potential deals with GenAI at the beginning of 2023. In 2023, he successfully closed his first MaaS deal and personally won a few well-known GenAI big model contracts with customers.
