I've been freelancing since 2012 for a variety of clients doing primarily 2d and 3d animation (but also some editing) in Cinema 4D, After Effects and Premiere. I began freelancing full-time in the fall of 2015 after I decided to relocate back to the midwest. It went so well that I kept at it until the spring of 2019 when one of my clients hired me. From concepting visuals for barebones scripts to 3d visualizations for unproduced products, my work has run the gamut of video pre-and-post-production.

I started working with LAI as a freelancer in 2014 doing After Effects work. This relationship continued until 2018 when they brought me on as a contract employee doing motion graphics, editing, and sound design. After seven months they decided to put a ring on it and hired me to be their first fully remote employee. Throughout my time at LAI Video I not only honed and grew my After Effects skillset but also taught myself Premiere and developed an eye for editing. I took projects from mood boards and style frames straight through production to the finish line. I even occasionally added sound design (I'll be honest, it's not my favorite).

My 3d modeling and animation skills improved immensely when I began working at Metro Productions. We did a lot of 3d visualizations for military contractors like L3, Lockheed Martin, and Northrup Grumman, modeling and animating anything from drones and helicopters to soldiers and humvees. We also served as the VFX department for sister company M2, inserting monsters and gunfire into their monster and mystery shows. This was also my first exposure to extensive rotoscoping as we often had to add or remove insignia or even straighten eyes to hide that the actor was following a teleprompter.

ShaveFX took a chance on a kid fresh out of undergrad with a reel full of Photoshop design work and Maya animation. I worked primarily as a 3d artist using Autodesk Maya until I taught myself Cinema4D and made the switch. The Martin Agency was our biggest client as we helped launch the Walmart in-store network using a combination of 2d and 3d graphics to advertise the latest sales and products every week.
