A seasoned professional with over two decades of dedicated experience in Materials and Construction, my journey began humbly as a roadway maintenance crew member. From those early days, plowing snow and patching potholes, to becoming a trusted authority in asphalt pavement and quality assurance, I have remained deeply committed to elevating infrastructure standards.Throughout my career at the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), I’ve had the privilege of significantly contributing to the transportation industry. As a Project Inspector, I conducted testing and inspections on major construction projects, where I first recognized the critical role of quality assurance in ensuring infrastructure’s longevity.Transitioning to a statewide role as a Business Analyst for the Materials and Construction section, my expertise in quality assurance and asphalt pavements became evident. I provided essential support to all six districts while actively shaping paving specifications and redefining quality assurance standards. Notably, in 2020, I pioneered a novel pay incentive structure that led to substantial improvements in pavement quality statewide, including a 3% increase in in-place density, benefiting both ITD and taxpayers.In recognition of my dedication, I was appointed Quality Program Manager for Materials and Construction in 2020. In 2021, I had the honor of sharing my expertise as a Guest Lecturer for Boise State University’s Pavement Analysis and Design Course, fostering the growth of future pavement professionals through knowledge exchange and practical insights.Most recently, my passion for learning and embracing technology has led me to enhance my skill set in data analysis and computer science. By utilizing programming languages like R and Python, I have advanced my data analysis techniques and continue to apply the latest developments in machine learning and generative AI to the field of highway construction and quality assurance.
