Instrumental in arranging and negotiating the merger with an industry competitor to create Canada's largest recreational cannabis retailer. Played a key role in divesting 3 non-core business units, and arranged $10 million of growth capital through a Bought Deal equity financing. Managed a team of 8 financial professionals responsible for creating both internal and external financial reports and statements.

The CFO role included both strategic and tactical facets which encompass the roll-up-the-sleeves mentality of an early stage company. Worked closely with the CEO to set the strategic direction of the company. Negotiated a Joint Business Relationship with one of the largest professional services firms in the world. Identified Intellectual Property risk and worked with legal counsel to implement agreements to secure IP rights. Implemented all Finance and HR policies and procedures.

Responsible for the financial oversight of the Canadian lending business and the Canadian indemnity / insurance business, including treasury management, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis and financial reporting. Improved the monthly financial management reporting process resulting in a more timely, accurate, and detailed reporting package. Played a key role in transitioning the company's "indemnity" business to a regulated "insurance" business, including the negotiation of legal and financial agreements with insurance and re-insurance companies. Managed a team of 4 financial professionals.

- As the CFO of a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange, I was responsible for the overall financial leadership of the company. I managed a team of 6 financial professionals, as well as numerous external advisors.- Played a key role in completing an $18.6 million Rights Offering financing in March 2014.- As a strategic business partner to the Executive Chairman and CEO, I was actively involved in corporate development and investor relations activities.

- Joining an early-stage private company, my initial mandate was to assist the company in going public.- Played an instrumental role in completing a $45 million IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange in May 2010. Worked closely with external legal counsel in order to prepare the IPO Prospectus, as well as with the Underwriters in order to present to institutional shareholders during the IPO roadshow.- Reporting to the Executive Chairman and CEO, I was responsible for corporate development, investor relations, and corporate communications activities.
