Olah Healthcare helps hospital systems retain patient records from archived or retired IT systems. This required use of databases from vendors such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, and Allscripts. Once the data was received, we moved data to Olah systems then reverse-engineered report logic for medical archiving of data. Worked with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases and translated customer specified reports into custom Jasper Studio reports to meet the customer’s archiving requirements.

Innovate IP was founded to commercialize the academic intellectual property data management systems for which I was responsible for development and deployment while at Ohio State. The Innovate IP system was deployed to multiple customer sites. Information Management lead in support of Intellectual Property Development and Commercialization Office• Developed new IT platforms for the management of data and processes that were outside of scope of purchased legal intellectual property docketing system (IP Master). The existing systems were not flexible enough to report on, or house data needed by the office. Developed new reporting tools and systems to better meet the office needs. This required integration with and enhancement of existing platforms. • Provided support for commercialization initiatives. This required learning new technologies quickly to perform searches against literature databases to find potential prior art or similar systems. One effort was in the area of automotive telematics, which required researching the current state of automotive computer systems and their uses. Generated reports for understanding current space and where new applications could be developed

Member of Information Management Database Team servicing all functions at Battelle - Columbus• Implemented reporting system using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. Battelle has a database for internal financial and billing transactions with billions of rows over the course of 20 years. Successfully developed 30+ reports for this database that would summarize the data at multiple levels and provide access to this large data set for management to make financial decisions. • Outlined and completed database performance optimization enhancements. Examined the financial transaction database to increase query response time. Optimized data structures and provided warehouse reporting databases to pre-compute data for performance. Increased many queries from hours and minutes to seconds through the use of the new structures.

• Constructed and maintained PeopleSoft Self Service web site for 20,000 employees. Worked with the team to deploy a PeopleSoft Java Tuxedo application that allowed employees to elect their benefits, change their personal information, and interact with the human resources systems online • Designed and constructed server environments for PeopleSoft Self Service system. The PeopleSoft web application was resource intensive, so a special server configuration needed to be developed to allow for all 20,000 employees to elect their benefits in the two-week window of time provided. Designed a system with multiple web and application servers that stood up to high peak utilization. • Engineered server clustering solution for web and application server to limit concurrent connections to minimize licensing cost while enhancing performance under load. As part of providing the server infrastructure, created a round-robin, application-sharing approach for the high peak utilization. Developed methods to keep system performance high, reduce licensing costs, and maintain the state information across servers.
