Director and Technical Lead of corporate development program for Analytical Instruments Group (AIG). Developed a new modular Plasma FIB solution for use by an external company. Provided hands-on technical direction and project management to hardware, software, and research teams. Worked closely with partner to develop module on accelerated timeline.

Promoted to lead a new Global Digital team, overseeing all software development for MSD. Created and led a global team of over 500 software developers, SQA specialists, and product managers.

Continued in same role after acquisition by Thermo Fisher Scientific. Expanded the team to 200+ software engineers, focusing on application software and automation solutions for SEM and TEM microscopes.

Relocated back to United States in same role focusing on global software development. FEI was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific (September 2016).

Relocated to Eindhoven to provide direct day-to-day leadership of largest team in Europe. Led the development team in creating the next-generation TEM image and x-ray acquisition application (Velox).

Relocated to Bordeaux, France to integrate a new software acquisition into FEI and lead customer-facing microscope and automation software development. Formed the Application Software Group, integrating teams from the Netherlands, Czech Republic, USA, Germany, and Norway into a cohesive global team of 100 engineers.

Led software and hardware engineering teams, mineralogists, and demo lab, overseeing product development and R&D.

Promoted to Acting General Manager, leading a $50M Business Unit focused on Natural Resources, including Oil & Gas, Mining, and Geo Sciences. Designed and launched high-margin entry-level desktop MLA & QEMSCAN Mineral Analysis microscopes with reduced maintenance requirements and lower cost of ownership. Completed testing of new rugged MineSite solution at remote mining customer operations.

Relocated to Australia to acquire and integrate competitors in the Automated Mineralogy market, establishing a new Natural Resources Business Unit. I led the R&D team consisting of software, hardware, and system engineering.
