Transitioned all Scripps services to full HD/SD simulcast with redundant playout, uplink and satellite capacity. Created media workflows for efficient creation and distribution of VOD and online content. Management of five full power US broadcast TV stations in Bridgeport, CT, Raleigh, NC, Cleveland, OH, Boston, MA and San Francisco, CA. Responsible conversion to ATSC digital broadcast as well as management of all operations, engineering, local programming, personnel and regulatory compliance.

Provided broadcast and technology leadership for the rapidly growing network group. Oversaw a complete rebuild of the broadcast operations and transmission engineering areas adding the ability to move from 3 to 10 network playouts. As part of that project also expanded production, post production and music composition areas. Launched Fine Living Network (now Cooking Channel). Launched west coast feeds for HGTV and Food Network managing all affiliate satellite transitions. Assisted with technical due diligence process for the 2002 acquisition of The Shop at Home network and the 2004 acquisition of Great American Country.

Responsible for all engineering aspects for the 1994 launch of Home & Garden Television (HGTV). Oversaw design and construction of one of the industry’s first serial digital television operations in early 1995 including the first implementation of file based playout using Alamar automation and Media Pool video file server. Managed turnkey integration of Andrew analog satellite uplink system in 1994. Upgraded to digital in 1999. Responsibilities also included facility wide power, HVAC, telephone system and other critical infrastructure.
