As CEO of the USTA, Mr. Dowse led the country’s largest governing body of sport. Completely transforming the organization to ultimately deliver record revenues and profits from The US Open Tennis tournament, global media rights, merchandise, tickets, and hospitality. Mr. Dowse led the organization in navigating the COVID-19 crisis successfully staging the world’s first global sporting event with the 2020 US Open, followed by a record setting 2021 US Open. The flawless execution of both events reignited the sport of tennis and resulted in double digit growth in participation, fan engagement, and assuring the financial well-being for the USTA.As President of Wilson Sporting Goods, Mr. Dowse led 1,500+ colleagues in delivering the global business of one of the most storied brands in the sporting world. He was responsible for the company’s global strategy, corporate operations, and manufacturing across more than 160 countries. Mr. Dowse oversaw the company’s significant growth and the expansion of the brand’s footprint in Racquet Sports, Team Sports, Baseball, Softball and Golf.He led acquisitions of the Louisville Slugger and EvoShield brands which led to Wilson’s year-over-year increases in profitability and market share gains. Under his leadership, new strategic partnerships with the National Football League®, Major League Baseball®, USTA® and the National Collegiate Athletic Association® were negotiated and monetized.Prior to his role as president of Wilson Sporting Goods, Mr. Dowse held the position of Amer Sports President of the America’s for the brands of Salomon, Arc’Teryx, Atomic and Suunto. In this role Mr. Dowse oversaw the carve out of Salomon from adidas, led the integration of all the brands into one legal and operating company and ultimately driving the company to tripling profits and growing revenue double digits over a seven-year period. Leading up to Mr. Dowse’s senior roles in the outdoor and sports industry, he was Director of Tennis Footwear for Nike and a sales representative with Gallo Wines.
