Mike has twenty five years of real estate and finance experience. His experience includes structuring joint ventures, acquisitions, development, accounting, and investment management; with acquisition officer responsibility for approximately $1 billion in investment across asset classes and in multiple U.S. markets. Prior to co-founding Morningside Capital, Mike was a Senior Associate at The Lionstone Group, a Houston-based private equity fund that focuses on urban real estate investments. While at Lionstone, Mike worked on $400 million of urban real estate acquisition and development projects and led the acquisition efforts in the Denver and Atlanta markets. Prior to Lionstone, Mike spent six years at Hines, a Houston-based international real estate developer. While at Hines, Mike worked on numerous development projects that spanned multiple product types and locations. Mike received a degree in Managerial Studies from Rice University and a Masters degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Mike currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Wood Center for Real Estate Studies at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
