The rugged, durable, aluminum enclosure is explosion proof and can withstand the tough environment of the drilling rig operations. The wireless modems have built in security to protect data transfer.Mike started as Business Development Manager and equity partner to expand the client base and to improve the equipment. Developed marketing plan and materials which were non-existent. Our market share has grown extensively in Canada for this service. We have also achieved a viable market share in the US and expanded into international markets. Evaluated, selected and then managed software development team to upgrade and rewrite data acquisition software. Researched infrared gas sensing technology and conducted tests/experiments on the existing infrared sensor. Researched wireless technology to gain a better understanding of existing wireless radios used in gas detection equipment. Networked and performed sales to expand client base. Gas Log Analyst To Business Development ManagerDatalog Technology Jan 1998 - May 2002Calgary, Canada AreaEmployed and trained as a Mudlogging Analyst. Duties included supervising gas chromatography, data acquisition and mudlog generation. Worked in Alberta and offshore Nova Scotia. These duties included in depth understanding of the drilling process, software and hardware/electronics. Also, trained new mudloggers on land based rigs. Offshore duties included sample updates for the night drilling supervisor, running a full data unit, etc. Following safety procedures were very critical for offshore. Also worked as Electronic Drilling Recorder Technician as an additional duty before accepting a position in the office as Account Manager and soon after as Business Development Manager. Theses duties included mudlog interpretation, offshore contracts/bids, technical sales and presentations to educate play geologists, engineers, etc. on mudlogging or gas chromatography. Looked into satellite technology available at the time for remote data transmission to a mirror server for real-time capabilities. Also provided on call technical support for gas loggers. Was successful in winning many offshore bids until Datalog was on every offshore rig in Eastern Canada except for 1 and had all of the land-based rigs.
