• Assigned to the Mobil Torrance Refinery. Researched and accumulated electrical and instrumentation data to bring Mobil into compliance with federal regulations. Furnished equipment and process data for the establishment of the computerized electrical and instrument (LAN based) database for use by maintenance and operations personnel.• Installed new consoles, fiber optic data highways, racks of extended controllers, HLPIU’s and LEPIU’s, and gateways for the Honeywell TDC 3000 distributed control system. Placed and connected several programmable logic controller systems including Triconex, Triplex and Modicon systems. Loop and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems. • Managed a crew of forty technicians including assigning project work, billing, purchasing materials and leading safety meetings. Acted as liaison between client engineers and the construction staff. Used piping and instrument diagrams, instrument location plans, instrument loop diagrams, termination drawings, electrical schematics and instrument installation details to estimate materials, manpower requirements and install projects to customer requirements. Installation projects included the Process Control Modernization, Refinery Analyzer Upgrade, Alky Evacuation System, Hydrotreater Cooling Tower Substation Expansion, Boiler Triconex PLC Upgrade Project and Fiber Optics Project.

Assigned to Mobil Oil Corporation Torrence Refinery. Supervised a crew of ten technicians for refinery turnaround, hot cut over, start up and maintenance throughout the refinery. Removed and replaced existing analog instrumentation during refinery upgrade to the Honeywell TDC 3000. Installed electronic instruments to replace the old outdated pneumatic instruments for interface with new DCS. Installed, calibrated, troubleshot, and repaired Rosemount, Foxboro, Moore Products, Fisher Controls, Motorola, Moore Instruments, and many other instruments.
