Leading a team within the Strategy department, providing economic, aviation, competitor, market and industry intelligence to support network development, strategic decision making, business planning, fleet development, airport planning, and commercial activity across the airline and parent company.Through hard work and by maintaining very high standards of analysis, presentation and delivery, I have successfully established the team as the preferred source for commercial insight and analysis pertaining to the external business environment.Accountabilities include:• Monthly production of briefings on UK, US, Emerging, and Eurozone economies, with detailed analysis of the UK economy, with main findings regularly presented to key stakeholders.• Compilation of detailed reports on competitors, potential and existing airline partners.• Market evaluation, exploring key performance drivers in existing markets, and assessing the prospects for potential markets to ensure that network development is optimised.• Analysis of developments in, and the outlook for the aviation and other key industrial sectors.• Sourcing, developing and analysing a portfolio of economic, aviation and market indicators, from which relevant trends are established.• Strategic work on a range of issues including submissions to regulatory authorities, network strategy, and airline partner development.I have initiated a structured approach to market evaluation, which is now recognised as a key component of both near and long term network development.By combining economic and aviation analysis, I have developed added dimensions to demand forecasting, offering a differentiated approach for specific markets.I have developed economic lead indicators to provide insight into consumer/business sentiment; analysis of competitor capacity development has highlighted future supply/demand issues by market; network strategies have been produced for short- and long-haul leisure markets.
