Mike Goddard is Chairman of Belvoir Lettings, a company he and his wife founded in 1995 and floated on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange in February 2012.. After graduating from Swansea University in 1970 Mike was accepted as a VSO and was posted to Kenya to teach in up-country schools. He stayed in Kenya for 7 years coming back to the UK only once and that was to complete a Post Graduate Certificate of Education (again at Swansea University). During his time in Kenya he became well known for this exploits on the high mountains of East Africa, climbing Mount Kenya (17,000 ft) 46 times and Kilimanjaro (19,400 ft) 6 times. He also set a new standard for running up and down Mount Kenya in 4 hrs 34 minutes. On returning from Kenya in 1979 he took a commission with the RAF and served on a number of tours around the UK including a tour as Officer Commanding Administration Wing on a fast jet station. In 1995 after 17 years in the RAF and reaching the rank of Wing Commander, Mike retired to start Belvoir Lettings. Belvoir has grown through franchising to a network of some 150 offices throughout the UK. Belvoir provides a lettings and property management service to private landlords. Mike is married to Stephanie and has 4 of his own children and 2 step children. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the British Franchise Association and their immediate past chairman. He is also on the Board of The Property Ombudsman, Mike and Stephanie live in an 18th century house in the Scottish Borders in 25 acres of land. Mike's interests include triathlons (is is currently 4th in the world in his Age group), cars (he has 2 Morgans, a classic Plus 4 and a limited edition Aeromax), and looking after his estate in Scotland.
