I currently work in various areas but mostly connected to specialist and generally military related vehicles and their associated equipment. This involves planning and carrying out trials of new and redeveloped vehicles and also operator and trainer training. I am particularly involved in specialist mounting systems for vehicles and also marine applications.

I joined Supacat at its early period of evolution as a company. I did most of the trials and later demonstrations as well as work in the workshop on development and some production. This involved both civilian and military uses of the vehicles.The military became increasingly interested in the new vehicle and I was involved in all the associated trials and development and involvement with companies to handle the MOD. As the Supacat went into service as the 'ATMP' I was involved with many aspects, but mostly the trials and training and spending a lot of time with the user units and potential users on exercises both in UK and overseas. The ATMPs were re rolled for Gulf War1 where it was all hands on to convert them to tow Rapier missile launchers. I flew out with the first vehicles into theater to train the new users. I later repeated this type of operation when the ATMPs, re rolled again, went out on Op Haven. Both very interesting projects for a 'civilian' ! I became involved in various projects with the ATMP including evolving it as a weapons platform for SF use. This involved some very interesting and testing trials. I was also involved in a military evolution of Skidoo over snow vehicles which we supplied to UK MOD. The civilian side continued with involvement and evolution of Fire fighters, electricity industry and even the recovery of crashed aircraft for the MOD as well as EOD work recovering bombs from ranges. All these and more I become deeply and practically involved in. I was involved in the development of a very specialised self loading trailer the FLPT, as well as crane fits and other equipment. In the earlier years Supacat operated on the military side in conjunction with larger companies, Williams Fairy and later Alvis Vehicles. I spent time with these travelling to many countries in support of them for exhibitions, trials and demonstrations. I was involved in all new Supacat projects and developments including HMT and RNLI boat launch project

I was initially southern UK sales manager and then added various overseas areas. I became specifically involved in large scale demonstrations and tours in UK and overseas. I traveled extensively to many countries. In 1980 I took over as regional manager for Southern Africa, based with Ford in South Africa which I traveled extensively. With this I also visited Indian ocean islands, Australia and New Zealand where I had been previously on demonstration tours.
