I have over 30 years of professional and academic experience in archaeology, biological anthropology and Indigenous cultural heritage management across Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. I am a nationally recognised expert in the field investigation, laboratory analysis, curation and repatriation of Indigenous ancestral remains.Over the last seven years I have managed archaeological and cultural heritage management projects in Victoria, New South Wales and Papua New Guinea, synthesising the results of meticulous desktop and archival research with complex data resulting from fieldwork. During that time, I completed 30 cultural heritage management plans and numerous due diligence cultural heritage assessments in Victoria, and archaeological salvage reports and significant cultural heritage risk and impact mitigation assessments for extractive industry clients in PNG including two archaeological salvage investigations for the PNG LNG project (2012-2013); 14 cultural heritage field surveys for Morobe Mining Joint Venture and Wafi-Golpu Joint Venture (2012-2017) supporting the preparation of an EIS for the Wafi-Golpu Project; two preconstruction surveys supporting the development of the NCPC power plant at Caution Bay (2015-2016) for Coffey and ExxonMobil; the preparation of a cultural heritage baseline and impact assessment for the P'nyang 4 appraisal well in PRL3 (2016) for Coffey and Oil Search; and a cultural heritage baseline and impact assessment update for the Woodlark Gold Project (2011) for Coffey and Woodlark Gold Ltd.I have provided expert advice to Museum Victoria, Aboriginal Affairs Victoria and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery regarding the curation and repatriation of artefact collections and collections of Aboriginal ancestral remains. I regularly engage with many of Victoria’s Aboriginal community organisations, as well as the PNG National Museum and Art Gallery and the Social Research Institute in PNG.
