As a part of the growing debt accounting team, I worked on numerous funds with borrowers of all property types across the US. My primary focus remained on the growing, open-ended fund with assets over $2 billion.Responsible for either reviewing or creating all financial statements, recurring investor requests and liquidated returns. I also continued adding efficiencies through my knowledge of both the debt accounting processes and Excel/VBA. As an AFM, I was responsible for overseeing and delegating responsibilities to the team, assuring completion of all reports on a timely basis, and heading communication to our clients and auditors. I was also assigned a leadership role in our company's transition to a new accounting system, and became a contact for the rest of the department to come to should there be any issues.

Consequently, my work is largely similar to what it was at Heitman.Worked on numerous real estate debt funds with borrowers of all property types across the US. My primary focus transitioned to a growing, open-ended fund with over $1.5 billion of assets under management. I was responsible for either reviewing or creating all financial reports as well as all recurring investor requests. As a senior, I was also responsible for delegating responsibilities to our small team and assuring completion of all reports on a timely basis. I was also very focused on adding efficiency through my excel and VBA knowledge to expedite our processes.

Worked across 4 different real estate debt funds with borrowers of all property types across the US. My primary responsibilities included creating interest invoices, calculating client distributions and fees, and preparing quarterly/annual financial statements (inclusive of their footnotes). In addition, I also assisted with the quarterly valuations for the underlying properties, calculating both time-weighted and internal rate of returns, and creating reports for the investors when requested.

Worked on a portfolio of retail properties across the US in which I was responsible for all accounts receivable. This required frequent communication with tenants, property managers, and other accounting groups to ensure smooth, timely payments of all incoming revenue. As a primary contact for tenants, I was responsible for analyzing and explaining bills such as tenant recoveries and overage rent.

Greater Chicago Area

Worked on a portfolio of multiple property types in the northern California market in which I was responsible for communicating with property managers, performing monthly closes, reviewing leases, and other tasks as necessary. Some major components of the monthly close included posting journal entries, analyzing variances and communicating with the property manager to resolve issues.
