Mustard Seed Publishing is the holding company for the magazine Batteries International, a well respected industry title that deals with the global batteries/energy storage industry.This may at first seem a niche sector however it is an important one and underpins the health of the world economy and needs to be understood properly. For that reason the magazine's approach is disinclined to offer comment and more to offer factual driven news and features. Provision of accurate information is key to the magazine's understanding of itself — it's aim is to serve the battery industry.On a personal note — and in contrast to some of the other areas of journalism where I've worked — the batteries industry is also a tremendously agreeable one to write about. Competitive yes, but always friendly.Other specialist titles are in the process of being added to the company.,

Hampton Halls Associates, which publishes Energy Storage Journal. is a joint venture between myself and Karen Hampton (see below). In one sense the magazine is an extension of Batteries International but it is also fills a wider brief concentrating on the role that energy storage will make in powering a life-style revolution in the way that we can use energy from renewables to move us away from dependence on fossil fuels.

Have worked as a contributor, reporter, editor, subeditor for an extensive range of mostly finance titles. These have included working as a subeditor on the Financial Times newspaper, Sunday Correspondent and business editor for newstand magazines such as the Irish Post, Nursing Times. Have been regular contributor on financial matters to Ideal Home, What Investment, What Mortgage, Investment International and more. Have also worked on wide range of specialist finance titles looking at such diverse subjects as aviation finance, trade finance, corporate finance, foreign exchange and derivatives -- having been editor of FX Manager for Euromoney and later editor of FX Week.I used to do occasional work with EuromoneyII Publications and, in particular was regarded as a safe pair of hands and acted as a fill-in editor for various finance titles including Air Finance, Air Traffic Management, Futures and Options Week and Futures and Options World.

Saudi Arabia

Spent three years after graduating working in Saudi Arabia for the country's oil company in Dhahran and also for Saudi Investment Bank, a subsidiary of Chase Manhattan Bank based in Riyadh. Also lived in France and Italy between and after contracts. Later worked for Lebanese engineering consultancy preparing reports and project bids for mostly Middle East contracts. On and off spent almost a year helping edit Yemen Master Road project, the first set of formalised road standards for the north of the then divided country.
