Experience includes:Banking - Moving into a commercial and ag lending position in 2008 was a big departure from my primary career in education. But, it has been a positive one both professionally and personally. The financial aspects of the position are engaging and I enjoy working with customers who are entrepreneurial. This experience has afforded opportunities to learn about business and what it takes to be successful.Math Item Writing and Curriculum Writing - Since 2008, I have stayed busy writing test items and curriculum content. My work has primarily been with Brown Publishing and Total Assessment with focus in junior high and senior high subject areas.Teaching - I've taught everything from pre-Algebra to AP Calculus II, college Algebra, and introductory Statistics as a graduate assistant.Assessment - As a consultant, supervisor, and then director at the Wyoming Department of Education, I oversaw development of the online, state reporting system. At Harcourt Assessment, I worked as a content development manager, program manager, and assessment architect. As an independent consultant, I have presented at state assessment conferences and district in-services. I facilitated standard setting meetings in Virginia and Arizona.Data Analysis and Report Writing - I created a Parent Satisfaction Survey for Chicago Public Schools; I led technical writing on the 2006 Lessons Learned Report for the Florida DOE; and conducted a marketing research study for Memory Maker's Magazine. In 2012, I conducted strategic planning sessions for the Carnegie Arts Center in Goodland, Kansas and wrote a customer service survey.Publishing - I was the Editorial Director at The Grow Network. I have written and reviewed math curriculum for grades 3 through 11. At Harcourt, I oversaw the development, production, printing, and distribution of the ISAT (Illinois’ state assessment).
