Network engineer supporting the customers forward deployed CONUS and OCONUS analytical sites that support DOD customers. Support includes development, standup and maintenance of new and existing sites to include Satellite Teleports, deployable ruggedized analytical suites, and motorized analytical suites. In addition I support the customer’s rapid deployments to areas of natural disaster which include CONUS and OCONUS deployments. Interface directly with the SIPRNET, NIPRNET and JWICS mission partners to provide the customer an IP presence on those critical networks and provide the customer’s product to the wider audience. I also report directly to the government customer the status of existing deployed sites to include any problem resolution efforts that are ongoing via a daily baseline report that is published for decision makers within the organization to make mission critical decisions. In addition I also work with the customer to define their requirements and work these requirements through the government procurement, engineering and implementation process. In addition I document for the customer network diagrams and detailed configuration management documents that assist in problem resolution and evolving engineering requirements.

Senior network lead/engineer supporting the NDN/GCE (NGA Developer Network/GeoScout Computing Environment) network and the customer’s operational data centers for the GIMS contract. I lead the efforts of a network team responsible for the engineering, installation and maintenance of a classified network spanning seven customer sites across the continental US supporting multiple contracts and well as operational support of the customer’s data centers. I’m currently also working with the customer to transition the programs development labs into a virtualized environment at a customer site which will see the customer taking on the ISP role for development across multiple contracts that was previously performed by the GIMS network group. I’m also transitioning all the programs Cisco ACE modules to F5 LTM 3990 Appliances to get in line with the customers preferred load balancer. This will allow the program to provide the customer with tested load balancing schemes for mission critical applications. Currently I’m also supporting the programs integration into the AWS cloud as well as our own OpenStack development efforts from an infrastructure point of view. Along with these duties I’m the POC for working network related issues with the NGA customer due to my years of experience within that government organization. I have extensive experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, FWSM, PIX, IPS, Cisco ACE modules and appliances, F5 LTM 3900 Appliances, Access Control Servers (ACS), ASA appliances, Secure Computing Sidewinder Firewalls (G2) and General Dynamic KG encryption devices.

Followed customer security standards and industry best practices when installing and testing network infrastructures in government facilities to include cover sites. I was also responsible for the installation of routers, switches, bridges and hubs on government networks. As a communications technician I received certifications in the installation, termination, troubleshooting and testing of fiber optic and CAT5 cable systems
