Current duties include arranging carriers to pick up our truck loads of lumber, plywood and other commodities from our suppliers and deliver to our facility or deliver direct to our customers. I also have to keep up to date on current trucking rates from various areas and make sure our freight rates are competitive. This also includes keeping watch on current fuel cost and raise or lower our freight rates as needed. I also am always looking and finding new reliable carriers to help with moving our product inbound and outbound. I review and pay all trucking invoices that we arrange trucking for. I have made and kept many trucking contacts and continue to keep a very good working relationship with our carrier base. Several carriers are loyal and dedicated to us because of that. I also handle a lot of railroad duties. including working with the railroad on issues with the rail cars and claims. I also work with carriers to settle freight claims when our product is damaged or lost in transit as well as invoicing issues when billing is incorrect, or paperwork is incorrect or missing. I work closely with our truck drivers on issues that arise and maintain their daily route schedule. I work closely with the will call area and help them out with customer will calls and cover for them when one of them are off.

Was in charge of the day to day operation of the door shop. Working closely with my crew and the ThermaTru sales dept. to keep things running smoothly. Worked with customers on field repair of doors and kept track and adjusted the daily production factors for the shop.

Worked in Door Shop prepping and hanging doors. I have worked every aspect of the Door Shop and was involved in rearranging the door shop and door warehouse shortly after the first door handler machine was put in the shop. The door shop has been through many changes over the years and each one made production flow better. I was involved in the planning and implementation of rearranging and narrowing the door shop warehouse so we could store more material in less space.

Worked on night shift/day shift and was in charge of unloading and organizing the warehouse. I rearranged racking and product several times to accommodate new products and get rid of old products. Kept warehouse clean and functional. I also invented and implemented our first Bin System prior to RFN. This made things much easier to locate product in the warehouse and the door shop.
