A lab project of Aucerna, Hyperlytics was bringing to market a connected planning application built to enhance Excel capabilities with cloud-based collaboration, data consolidation and real-time data visibility. I was one of a two-member team that conceived of the new product category, built the development roadmap and developed a beta-ready product. Intended for a broad enterprise market, our initial sales focus was the oil and gas industry. With the energy industry downtown and COVID-19 related funding cuts in Spring 2020, the product was shelved.

Aucerna offers an integrated solution for the Energy Industry, optimizing Planning, Execution, and Reserves. I was responsible for managing a development team of approximately 10 developers and 4 QA people. A key task was to establish a common development process and move to common tools for the development teams (e.g. Git, Jenkins) as the teams came from several companies through mergers and acquisitions. As further acquisitions were made, my focus changed to the QA team and Application hosting team responsible for maintaining servers at the data center. A key success was gaining SOC2 compliance for the hosted application.

Enersight is a cloud-based oil and gas asset modelling application. With Enersight, I contributed senior development expertise to enhance the product during a time of rapid growth in the client base. I was promoted to VP development to take over management of the development team. In March 2016 the company was merged with 3esi, and was later rebranded Aucerna.

In 2012, Evoco was acquired by Accruent. Previously, Evoco provided document and process management systems targeted towards the construction industry and delivered through SaaS products. I instituted a scrum based process for the product development team which improved visibility, accountability, and predictability of delivery. I hired and managed developers to ensure that development could meet corporate goals. I coached the developers in coding, design and scrum best practices.Implemented scrum based development process to provide visibility and consistency within the organization.

I led the 10-person development team in the production of new web based applications using Microsoft .Net. I architected solutions to allow scalable, modifiable and highly customizable applications that can be tailored to match client processes. I instituted process improvements such as test driven development and build systems into the Evoco culture to ensure the quality of Evoco applications. I was responsible for set-up, management and support of the production systems which is hosted within a VMWare infrastructure.

In 1999, Merak was acquired by Schlumberger. Merak provided software for economic analysis of the global oil and gas industry. I developed a windows-based decline analysis tool for estimating oil and gas reserves. I established a dev ops process to improve product release cycles.

Hewlett Packard was building a software toolkit to support its computers and RTUs for SCADA systems. I developed a user interface builder for a SCADA toolkit using an object library of UI components that was built by our team.
