Artios delivers Mine Action, Unexploded Ordnance Risk Management and Stabilisation services globally, with a specific focus on capacity development. Provided the in-country operational management for the Janus’s U.S Department of State task order to clear explosive hazards from areas of Iraq liberated from Da'esh. The first commercial contract of its kind in Iraq and one of the first non-military operations to conduct large scale search and clearance of improvised explosive devices in the world.- Training local commercial company in IED search and clearance.- Liaison with key stakeholders including the UN, USAID, DoS, coalition embassies and Iraqi civilian and military establishments.- Operational Management of current task sites and ensuring compliance with company, national and international standards.- Operational planning and prioritisation in consultation with key implementing partners (DoS and Government of Iraq) to ensure clearance is impact assessed and correctly prioritised.

Subject Mater Expert (SME), technical author and requirement management for a UK MOD project to bring the Route Proving and Clearance (RP&C) capability that was deployed in Afghanistan into core Army holdings and establish a baseline of requirements to enable it be upgraded for use on future operations.Acted as one of the led technical authors for a significant project to conducted detailed analysis of how the UK MOD conducts EOD and Search operations down to mission level. This resulted in the production of mission vignettes that will significantly increase stockholder understanding during the development of future EOD, Search and CIED equipment projects and programmes.Third party assurance for a UK MOD project to assess the suitability of a a critical new EOD capabiltity against a set of defined requirements.

• Led through a period of change to provide the first dedicated Counter IED support to the specialist Brigade Reconnaissance Force and Brigade Operations Company, deploying in bespoke team compositions to meet the operational requirements after identifying the user’s bespoke needs.• Identified the Training Objectives, Concept of Employment and Standing Operating Procedures required to develop this role into a well defined capability. Established a specific training package, delivered in theatre, to train additional EOD Operators in this role.• Principle Counter IED advisor for a specialist UK unit tasked with finding and denying lethal aid, engaging in a multitude of operational planning cycles that resulted in finding large quantities of Bomb Making Equipment.• Awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal.

Principle Operations Manager to Senior Executive• The principle operations and planning officer for a UK EOD and Advanced Search Regiment of over 700 individuals and acting as the Commanding Officer’s principle advisor on technical EOD related matters.• Senior course officer for a number of EOD and Counter IED validation exercises, including a revised IED Destroy course, enabling a greater ROI in terms of operational effect from the investment in training.• Provided management and leadership through a period significant change within the organisation, setting the conditions for the merger of divisions, including with those of an external organisation, to produce a redefined structure and operational outputs.

Op HERRICK 13/14 • Primary Advanced IED Disposal team commander in the Danish area of responsibility of Helmand province, working in a multinational headquarters as the principle SME to the BG CO (CEO) on the IED threat, including on advising on variety of Force Protection measures.• Delivered validation training for the first fully qualified Afghan EOD operator in Helmand province, identifying training objectives and conducting a practical training package in a hostile environment with limited resources.• Awarded a 1* Commendation.

• Joint Service EOD operator supporting the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) during the busiest period of activity in over 10 years. This included multiple IED tasks, including rendering a large VBIED safe and conducting level one exploitation on multiple occasions to assist Scene of Crime officers.• Provided training to the PSNI on the IED threat and relevant Force Protection measures.• Provided SME advice to BRONZE and SILVER police command.

• Royal Engineer Bomb Disposal Officer providing Conventional Munition Disposal across Helmand province, including Sangin and Kajaki districts.• Developed a training package from concept through to delivery to provide Explosive Hazard Awareness education to local nationals in the Sangin district.• Attended, passed and deployed in role as an IED Destroy operator after passing a pilot course.

• Responsible for the leadership, management and mentoring of a team of highly trained EOD and Advanced Search soldiers.• Planned, managed and led overseas Explosive Ordnance Clearance task, responsible for 40 soldiers and locally employed civilians, in an arduous environment, achieving successful completion within budget and on time.• Built and developed successful and lasting relationships that ensured success during an arduous operational tour of Afghanistan.
