Profile bio

About Mike Knox

I believe in the unlimited potential of people and have dedicated my life to helping others recognize and grow that potential in themselves. From one-on-one coaching, to program and curriculum development, to public speaking in front of thousands, if there is a way to help someone grow, I am all over it. I care deeply about others and their development, because I know at my core that we are all fundamentally connected. I am often asked why I do not capitalize my name. I identify philosophically as Buddhist, a central tenet of which is the belief that everything is interconnected. For me, each time I write my name, I am re-centered on my core belief that I do not stand above or apart from anybody or anything else. I am another word in a unified sentence. This core value of connection centers social justice in everything I do. True leadership is about making the world a fairer place where everyone can belong, achieve to their fullest potential, and exist as their complete and authentic selves. Professionally, I am a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and organizational change maker committed to helping brands develop inclusive, engaged cultures that empower team members to perform at their best. I have expertise in developing curriculum, public speaking, in-person and remote instruction, on-boarding, addressing problematic behavior, and navigating sensitive topics. I am the creator of programs, classes, and trainings that promote diversity, inclusion, leadership, and professional skill development. Outside of work, I am a gamer (video games and tabletop games), an avid Peloton rider, an aspiring woodworker, and I get to do my favorite thing, which is to be a dad to two amazing (most of the time) kids. I also have the distinct honor of being married to the literal best person in the world. My Gallup Strengths: - Strategic: I am adept at problem solving and quickly identifying the most efficient and effective way forward. - Ideation: I am constantly generating new ideas and finding ways to improve upon old ones.- Futuristic: I am a visionary who can inspire others to action in order to define and achieve common goals. - Connectedness: I naturally see the connections between people, ideas, and (in a professional setting) projects and find ways to leverage relationships and intersecting goals for greater success. - Self-Assurance: I have excellent self knowledge and self-awareness. I know my strengths, my weaknesses, how to effectively navigate both, and I am confident that I can solve just about any problem with some time to ideate and plan.
