I have spent the last 30 years working in outside sales in the meat industry. One of the things I have enjoyed the most has been the opportunity to take on new challenges. I had the opportunity to sell product in new packaging as well as present and sell in new-to-market products. My duties have allowed me to travel throughout the eastern half of the country, meeting and working with established and new customers from Boston to Miami and out though Chicago and the Midwest. These customers have ranged from traditional wholesale distributors to regional and independent retailers, Asian restaurant suppliers and on to distributors catering to Hispanic grocers and foodservice customers.With such a varied base, each customer presents its own unique sales opportunity. I have been able to participate in three week-long plus leadership workshops while at Perdue and use those skills to lead our Southern Wholesale Sales team and take on supervisory duties for our outside team in metro New York and New England.
