Northern Lehigh, Pa

Responsible for the operation of Northern Lehigh's extensive park and recreation activities including the development and construction of the new 16,000 square foot Northern Lehigh Community Center as well as a wide variety of programming at the community center and at municipal parks and playgrounds. New recreational programs include fitness and wellness, the arts, self-improvement, environmental education and nature, outdoor concerts, outdoor movies, after school programs, bus trips, summer day camps, adult sports leagues and social activities. The NLRA was formed through a multi-municipal agreement between the Borough of Slatington and Washington Township. Additional duties to both municipalities involve creating greenway and trail connections, promoting and increasing public awareness of recreational opportunities, assisting youth sports organizations, working with community special event providers to enhance and improve the events and recruiting volunteers for park enhancement clean-up projects and recreation programs.

Lehigh Valley

Responsibilities include all Lehigh Valley Salvation Army website maintenance, social media, special events, grant writing, community relations, corporate relations, government relations, marketing, volunteer recruitment and United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots distribution for the Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and Pen Argyl Corps of the Greater Lehigh Valley Salvation Army as well as for our shelter facility for women and children located in Allentown.

Responsibilities included hiring seasonal staff, coordinated year round educational and recreational youth programs, initiated and coordinated special events and fundraisers, created publications to promote and advertise programs, contacted and spoke with the media during special events, completed and successfully submitted private, public and foundation grant proposals, supervised and directed staff, interns and volunteers in all aspects of Youth Department programming. Additionally I headed the Advertising Committee for the annual Red Kettle Campaign kickoff event entitled Savor the Season and coordinated the Toys for Tots effort for the Allentown Corps including securing volunteers, packing and distributing toys. Additional responsibilities included coordinating partnerships with Lehigh Carbon Community College, Central Elementary School, Michelle Obama’s Lets Move Initiative, The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation and The City of Allentown Health Bureau.
