Drug discovery utilizing various in vitro and in vivo assays and experiments to identify ideal candidate molecules for therapeutic treatment of cancer. Collaboration with multiple groups to identify effective chemical groups to be used in design of novel and unique molecules. Screened established drug libraries to identify potential hits. Development of milestone targets for funding sources. Coordinate efforts between three separate projects in the areas of cancer research and treatment.

Lab management duties. Differentiation of both embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells into endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and cardiomyocytes. Collaborate with a cardiac surgery lab as well as labs experimenting with decellularization of heart and lung tissue to examine the efficacy of in vivo and ex vivo transplantation of differentiated cells. Characterization of differentiated cells via qPCR, IHC, and flow cytometry. Optimize protocols to acquire higher quantities and purer populations of desired cells following differentiation and to maintain those cell lines.
