My role as Architectural Technologist with The Winter Partnership involves a lot more than CAD and Architectural design work, I have also been liaising with clients, making site visits, condition surveys, preparing Party Wall Awards, monitoring surveys, full measured surveys, submitting planning applications and preparing reports such as CTMP’s, D&A’s and Heritage statements. I worked full time during my placement year and continued working full time through my final year at University. Most of my work so far has been for high-end residential properties in Central London, so I have been dealing with the various London borough councils and contractors. I have also been involved in the planning and design of larger projects such as a large housing development in Staffordshire, and a conversion of a disused church into a nursery in Kent, where I would need to travel. Other projects include extensions and remedial works in Brighton and the surrounding area, where the office is based.
