As the MD of No 22 (Training ) Group, AVM Mike Lloyd was responsible for the safe delivery of: recruitment, training, education and development of all RAF personnel; technical and military flying training for all three Services; the RAF Aerobatic Team (Red Arrows); and the Air Cadet Organisation (55 000 cadets and volunteers). He Lead 10 000 civil servants, military personnel and contractors on 53 primary sites; managing a £255M annual budget to deliver 65 000 trained students per annum. He was the Operating-Risk Holder for 425 aircraft.He lead and managed strategic-level transformation in Tri-Service Technical Training and Flying Training.

As the RAF's HR Director, responsible for: setting policy and plans for the management of 42 000 RAF Service personnel; managing the Service Manpower Budget of £1.6bn; managing and developing RAF senior talent; and leading the development of strategy and delivery of RAF Strategic Communication & PR.Radically transformed RAF career and talent management to become output and capability focussed.

Head Office Director responsible for: developing the policy and strategy to enable management of the Reserve Forces and the Services’ Cadet organisations, and providing policy advice to the Under Secretary of State for Defence and the Minister for the Armed Forces.
