I am a Solutions Architect/IT Manager/Security Manager with team leader experience and over 23 years commercial technical support and management experience. Most recently, I have worked with Windows 7 &8.1, Windows 2k12 R2, VMware, Cisco ASA, VPN, Aruba, Sophos Security Products, Salesforce, and SAML 2.0 for SSO within an ITIL environment. I enjoy learning about and working with new technologies along with the daily interaction with colleagues and business users.During my years working in the IT field I have gained a lot of experience covering a number of disciplines. I have traveled the global in both an Internal IT Auditor and as Global IT Security roles, carrying out auditing duties or technical guidance/training/support or project deployments (when working on projects a Prince 2 methodology was employed.) This has provided me with an insight to a number of different cultures and working ethics/styles. In my global roles I provided 24/7 3rd level technical support on most IT matters – assisting on crisis management/trouble shooting in either a supporting capacity or as lead manager during the crisis.As a mentor I have trained and provided the necessary support for my reports during their career. I have seen a number of them become specialist or move in to IT Management roles.A number of projects have required negotiations with senior management or key stakeholders and I feel I performed these tasks with ease and can explain technical matters in more logical easy to understand manner.I have an approachable, easy going personality. I enjoy the sharing of knowledge and passing on information to improve business processes or for others personal development.My preferred role is a mix of business-as-usual support and project work with a focus on cloud delivery – SaaS, IaaS would be ideal as I feel this is current growth area in the IT sector.

Fernz Corporation was the parent company of an number of other business - in 2000 the HQ was moved to Australia with the parent name change to Nufarm (a subsidiary company that merged with Fernz in the late 80s) The company then shifted focus to Nufarm's related business. I moved from the NZ HQ to the Fernz Chemicals Office in Albany, Auckland. I was then asked to move to Australia and the new HQ to take up the position of Australian IT Manager.
