From a young age, I have always yearned to serve and protect others. Fortunately, as a police officer for the past thirty years, I have been able to fulfill my purpose. I am currently the Deputy Chief for the Decatur Police Department where I am responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the operations of the department to include Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Special Units, Communications, Crossing Guards, Training and Support Services divisions. I am honored to work for what I see as one of the best law enforcement agencies in the State of Georgia. I have had the opportunity to work with many talented police officers, investigators and leaders over my career. I worked my way through the ranks of the Decatur Police Department and I have assumed many roles. I have been a field training officer, instructor, accident reconstructionist, department training officer, accreditation manager, criminal investigator, internal affairs investigator, supervisor and acting Police Chief. I particularly have enjoyed my roles in training and leadership. I get great satisfaction in coaching, mentoring and developing the officers, investigators and supervisors in our department, as I would like to see them become future leaders that can carry on the success of the agency.I have been married for over thirty years and I am a proud father of two amazing sons. When I'm not at work, I enjoy travel, golf, exercise and woodworking.
