Mike McCormick began his career in the travel industry right out of college and like most of us… never left! He continues to be fascinated and challenged by this amazing industry that literally powers every economy and every other industry.During the pandemic, he co-founded and was Chairman of Travel Again, an independent, not-for-profit project focused on restoring traveler confidence, driving travel recovery and rebuilding the global travel industry. Over the past few years, Mike has helped multiple brands successfully reach new levels of performance. This includes launching business development, public relations and supplier relations at Onriva, an innovative business travel marketplace. Previously, he was the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), a global trade association he led since 2009. With the support of a highly dedicated staff, he led the transformation of this travel trade association. GBTA was the world’s premier business travel and meetings organization with over 10,000 members representing over US$345B in annual travel spending. Mike also was appointed to senior advisory board roles with Google and the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA). He is widely covered in media ranging from USA Today to the Wall Street Journal and Politico. Mike was a guest on-air contributor with MSNBC and CNN. He has conducted numerous live, on-stage interviews with guests ranging from industry C-level executives, sports and media icons, to President George W. Bush, First Lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In 2019, Mike was named an inaugural SPOKEies® Award winner as top spokesperson in the Non-Profit Trade Association Category. He was recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Influential People in Travel by Business Travel News.
