CHI is a $15 billion healthcare system operating over 70 hospitals across the country, in addition to physician practices, LTC, and ambulatory clinics. This position is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and planning leading to the effective implementation and monitoring of performance improvement activities, using Lean management tools and other process improvement methodologies.

Provided strategic and operational oversight for CHI’s Change Leadership Initiative aimed at increasing the capacity for organizational transformation and change across CHI. This included:• Developing Change Agents and Leaders in change models, concepts and tools• Advising major CHI initiatives • Assignment of Change Agent resources to key CHI and MBO change initiatives• Liaison to National and MBO Resources in developing leaders and the capacity for organizational change

Direct responsibility for providing leadership in support of the System’s goal of transforming the organization and its leadership to a state that reflected the mission, vision, values and a management philosophy of continuous improvement. This included:•Providing advising services to senior leadership teams in the areas of planning, transformation, change, leadership development, improvement and innovation.•Advising key System and organization teams resulting in system and process improvement in clinical and non-clinical areas.•Developing and delivering education and training to over 2000 managers and employees in process improvement approaches, methods and tools.

Conducted and participated in numerous health care consulting engagements for health care systems, hospitals, clinics, physician groups and health care associations. These projects were both long and short term and involved leading multiple work teams at all organizational levels. Projects included work in the areas of operations, patient accounting – revenue cycle improvement, finance and reimbursement, information services, strategic planning and marketing.
