My time at IKO provided me the opportunity to gain experience in Talent Acquisition through the completion of various tasks from beginning of the Talent Acquisition process to the end. My responsibilities included:- Intake meetings with the hiring team to determine their hiring needs. - Posting jobs internally, on external job sites, and university/college job boards. - Regularly going through the job boards and requisitions on WorkDay to create shortlists of candidates for hiring managers (as needed).- Setting up candidates with assessments and performing phone/virtual screening interviews at the request of the hiring managers.- Scheduling interviews for hiring managers. Once they made their selections, I was responsible for contacting the candidates to make verbal offers.- Processing background checks, creating offer packages (through WorkDay), and sending the packages out.- Throughout the entire Talent Acquisition process, I made myself available to both the hiring managers and candidates to answer any questions they may have to ensure the process was efficient, effective, and a positive one for all candidates.Additionally, this role has allowed me to gain experience supporting Learning & Development team by performing the following tasks:- Conducting research on industry trends and best practices related to Learning and Development.- Assisted in the creation and maintenance of training programs.- Developed and edited materials such as job aids, and e-learning modules (using Articulate Rise 360).- Analyzed engagement survey results for IKO, Roofmart, and SunGro and built presentations for each to facilitate discussion leading into action planning based on the results. - Helped plan and carry out workplace Wellness, Mental Health, and DEI initiatives. - Supporting the facilitation of team building training sessions based on the Insights Discovery psychometric tool.
