Hey there, I'm Mike! I'm thrilled by using big data and statistics to tell insightful stories about our transportation systems. My aim is to help our cities become more equitable, sustainable, and multimodal through data-driven policy and design.Previously with ICF, I designed and conducted evaluation studies for Federal Transit Administration grant projects, supported long range transportation plans and scenario studies, and estimated the impacts of climate change mitigation efforts. I made use of R to conduct spatial and non-spatial data analysis.I began my career as an aerospace and mechanical engineer working on jet engines and automotive hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems. I also had the opportunity to intern abroad in Paris, France. A few years later, I got the transportation bug and pivoted to earn my MS in transportation engineering at Portland State University. During that time, I researched e-bikes, e-scooters, and travel behavior.
