As the Chief of Administration at the Contractors State License Board (CSLB), I oversee, plan, organize, and direct the work of multi-disciplinary professional and administrative staff. I oversee the organization, planning, and direction of CSLB's Personnel Office and Business Services Office which encompasses over thirty (30) employees.I serve as a member of CSLB’s senior management team which meets regularly to discuss, problem solve, and implement the vital organizational needs of the Board. I provide consultation, guidance, and direction to all CSLB staff on administrative related issues. I identify policies and procedures that are deficient or outdated. I oversee the research and writing of policies and procedures, and I manage the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure integrity, effectiveness, and compliance.I represent the CSLB at various meetings and report to the executive staff on the outcomes. I give presentations to the CSLB Board members at all CSLB Board meetings on the activities of CSLB’s Division of Administration and provide strategic plan item updates. I present policy issues and recommendations to Board members, executive staff, program staff, the public, control agencies, and external stakeholders.

I managed the Contractors State License Board's (CSLB) Business Services Office in the Administration Division. I oversaw the following units: Contracts Unit, Purchasing Unit, Facilities and Planning Unit, Fleet and Asset Management Unit, Warehouse, Mailroom, Cashiering Unit, Training Coordinator Desk, Records Management Unit, Imaging and Workflow (IWAS) Unit, and was responsible for the Boards Business Continuity Plan (BCP). I managed twenty five (25) employees which includes three Associate Governmental Program Analysts, one Staff Services Analyst, one Management Services Technician, one Material Stores Specialist , two Warehouse Workers, two Office Services Supervisors, twelve clerical staff, and three permanent intermittent employees.

I planned, organized, and directed the operations of the Non-Information Technology (Non-IT) Contracts Unit. I reviewed and approved contracts completed by contracts staff, monitored workload, and ensured compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, procedures, and guidelines associated with Non-IT service contracts. I acted as the department's liaison for contract administration matters with the Department of General Services. I provided direct supervision to contracts staff which included six Associate Governmental Program Analysts.

I recruited, trained, and developed high performing advertising account executives. I developed strategic campaign plans to increase revenue and market penetration. I managed, met, and exceeded sales goals for each advertising campaign. I conducted weekly sales meeting and sales training sessions. I evaluated the performance of each account executive. I developed work plans and strategies to increase account executive performance. I coordinated the workflow of all existing customer accounts and new sales contracts.
