Direct supervision of work activities performed in the DUF6 Conversion Facility by operators and/or maintenance technicians at the Piketon location.

I was responsible for 12-15 operators for 12 hour shifts in the BPA Unit and in the Liquid Loading (Logistics)group. Responsible for training of staff in all aspects of their jobs, including certification in all jobs in their individual units. Responsible for completing performance evaluations on all staff. Responsible for staffing levels for safe and effective operations, I was assigned special projects within the scope of my authority regarding safety and various cleanup activities within my unit. I assisted with or wrote my own Safe Job procedures within my units. Responsible for ordering various supplies and equipment for operations as needed, including chemicals. Maintained positive employee relations within my team. Provided technical support for safe and cost efficient operations of the unit. Responsible in seeing that all Safe Job Procedures and all Safe Practices are followed insuring personnel and environmental safety is assured. I have a strong understanding of the incident command system. I have the responsibility of Incident Commander on most occasions. On all off shifts I am the responsible person regarding all events including any spills or environmental issues.

After starting in the warehouse I was promoted to Operator in 1997 in the Phenol Unit. I was responsible for learning and certifying in the Phenol Unit including the control room operator job. I successfully passed all job requirements. I operated my unit in a safe and reliable condition at all times. In 2005 I transferred to the Boiler Utility area of the plant where we were responsible for the safe operations of the plants boiler system as well as all other utilities on the plant site. During this time, I studied for and passed my State of Ohio Stationary engineers exam (Boiler license). In 2008 I transferred to the BPA Unit, again certifying in all job requirements and certifications. In 2009 I was approached by the plant manager and he requested I accept the Shift Supervisors job.

Unloaded & Loaded bulk product on the Ohio River using cranes and front end loaders. Also obtained my CDL license and drove a concrete truck at various times. Member in good standing IUOE.
