Until recently, Mike served as the Chief Financial Officer for Perry Homes headquartered in Houston, Texas. During his four year tenure, Perry’s revenue grew from $600M to over $1B. A primary driver of the growth was entering the DFW market. Mike was instrumental in finding and performing diligence on a DFW builder which Perry purchased to enter this market. Mike also revised and expanded bank lines of credit, implemented 1, 3 and 5 year business planning, restructured risk management, changed compensation structures, revised the 401k plan and implemented budgeting and other key management reports. He is a CPA with over 40 years of experience in Texas homebuilding including managing banking, finance, accounting, IT, Web presence, mortgage operations, and long-term planning. Prior to Perry, he was the CFO for Highland Homes. During his 17 year tenure, Highland's revenues grew from less than $200M to almost $1B, and they became the 19th largest homebuilder in the U.S.Before Highland, Mike was the Corporate Controller for D.R. Horton. In this role, he assisted in a successful IPO and was responsible for assisting in performing due-diligence work for potential acquisitions, financial reporting, payroll, audit coordination and lender reporting.In July 2021, Mike is returning to his Texas homebuilding consulting practice.
