The northeast portion of the Calgary Ring Road, also called Northeast Stoney Trail (NEST), wasprocured as a Public Private Partnership (P3). The Province of Alberta chose Bilfinger BergerBOT to develop the project, and Bilfinger selected Stoney Trail Constructors, a joint venture ledby Flatiron, to design and build the new 13-mile portion of the ring road.Flatiron was responsible for constructing the northeast section of the ring road, which extendsfrom Deerfoot Trail, the main north-south route through Calgary, south to 17 Avenue SE. Theproject included 23 bridge structures and six interchanges, including one major interchange atDeerfoot Trail and one at the Trans-Canada Highway 1. Project Value: $424,000,000Responsibilities:• Labourer for a few months while waiting for equipment to arrive on site.• Operated the Packer, Disker/Drag, 740 Rock Truck, 637 Scrapper, D6 Bulldozer and Water Truck for the earthworks department (NE Stoney Trail Project).• Assisted Superintendent/General Foreman with recruitment of labourers and HEO.
