As the commissioner of the World Axe Throwing League, I am responsible for managing the WATL team in all activities related to the governance and growth of the sport.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- gameplay development- community engagement and management- ensuring WATL is communicating clearly and regularly with all stakeholders- increasing the visibility and reach of the WATL and the sport of axe throwing in general- overseeing day to day operations of the WATL- strategic short term, and long term planning for growth- working with our affiliate partners to ensure their success as providers of the sport- working with our throwers to ensure their success in the sport- working with our broadcast partners such as ESPN to expose the sport to a wider audience- maintaining and growing existing sponsor relationships, while identifying and engaging new sponsors to allow for investment into the growth of the sport- working with the WATL Council as representatives of the sport to identify and action issues on an ongoing basis- engage with the WATL Council with new initiatives and changes within the sport- working with the technology teams to identify technology improvements to aid the growth of the sport- working with the WKTL Commissioner to identifying cross-sport collaboration opportunities

As the community director I worked with WATL staff, WATL Affiliates and the axe throwing community to build bridges and further the sport. Responsibilities were wide ranging, from addressing member concerns, to game development, to planning and execution of the WATC 2021.

As the Director of Video Training Operations I was responsible for the leadership and management of the Canadian organization and production teams, and assisting with Canadian staff working with other organizational teams. This included all facets of planning and budgeting, and working with teams throughout O'Reilly to bring the highest quality of content to our platform. In addition to managing the day to day operations for Canada, I also:- Product managed for the Screencast content type- Was a member of the Learning team, helping transform the business from a technical book publisher to a SaaS based learning company- A contributing member of the Live Online Training team, delivering instructor-led live training to B2B and B2C platform customers- A contributing member of the Artificial Intelligence team=============================Highlighted achievements include:=============================- Led the post-acquisition transition of Infinite Skills to O'Reilly Media Canada in 2014/15- I worked with O'Reilly executive leadership to introduce and integrate Screencast content as a revenue product to the various editorial content groups, leading to an increase in year over year content creation (by product and by hours delivered), and revenue- I helped lead the launch of the groundbreaking new content format "Orioles" (Interactive Jupyter Notebooks) to O'Reilly customers, and ultimately to the Safari Platform. This included establishing the documentation and process for publication of the content. - I worked with the highly successful Live Online training team to more than double the capacity for the modality by end of Q2 2017, resulting in increased revenue and registrations. I also consolidated, maintained, and advised on relevant analytics used to make data-driven editorial content and business decisions. I worked closely with the managing team to advise on product enhancements to increase attendance and revenue.

As a co-founder I have led or assisted in all aspects of the growth and development of Infinite Skills since it's founding in 2007. Responsibilities focussed on the day to day operations, and helping to shape and execute on the overall corporate vision and direction of Infinite Skills. Ultimately Infinite Skills was acquired by O'Reilly Media in November 2014.

I created the company from the ground up to one of the top 3 online tea-retailers in Canada. I sourced products from large, small and niche wholesalers worldwide, designed and developed teafrog.com from scratch including all shopping cart and administrative systems, created all packaging and procedures for taking large wholesale orders and repackaging them for retail sale. I also managed all aspects of sales and marketing, as well as designing and building a booth for craft show sales. TeaFrog was a completely bootstrapped company, was profitable within 6 months of launch, and was successfully sold in February 2013 to allow me to focus on Infinite Skills full time.

Primarily responsible for the development and management of the vtccanada.com website, front-end and back-end administrative packages, as well as sales and service, and assisting with fulfillment of online orders.

As a co-founder and CTO I was responsible for the programming and development of the first online only self-serve e-commerce software in Canada (SaaS before it was an acronym!). I was a partner in raising $5 million in private funding and assisted in taking the company public through a reverse takeover in 2000.My primary responsibilities included overseeing the technical direction of all software development, participating in developing sales and marketing strategies, and overseeing the planning, development and launch of software development projects for partners such as Canada Post, Sympatico-Lycos, Cable & Wireless, Worldcom.Retired as a board member and from the company in February 2003.
