This was going to be a new experience for me, but I love learning and taking difficult assignments so I was onboard with the idea as soon as they explained the objectives. The initial goal was to consolidate thirteen different financial systems to a single system resulting in the capability to simplify, streamline, and standardize business operations. During my time in this role my responsibilities expanded and I had the opportunity to work across our business functions to support broader business systems transformation activities.Results highlights include:- Developed transformational plan with expected cost savings of $50-70M annually to reduce suite of business applications from 55 to 8 for the engineering and construction line of business.- Led transformation project to take Jacobs government services line of businessfrom thirteen different financial systems to a single system, including strategic planning, system selection, competitive solicitation to select our implementation partner, and working across the line of business to build a broad team able to represent the financial system needs.- Planned, executed, and deployed Phase 1 of an ERP transformation for the government services line of business retiring four aging ERP platforms.- Presented frequent status updates to the CFO, CHRO, CAO, CIO, board of directors, and other senior leaders on planning and deployment of business systems transformation.- Led government services line of business divestiture activities for development of the transition service agreements (TSA) costing and scope for ERP and HCM applications.- Led development of future state IT gaps analysis and risk mitigation.- Led IT strategic roadmap development for ERP and HCM. As I was getting to know our customers and the employees providing the technical support I was able to quickly build rapport and trust across each of the ten sites that reported to me by being transparent with my objectives and sincere in my communication style. I also inherited a seriously troubled contract and devoted much of my time in the early months improving our performance and successfully turning around our customer’s perception of us. In addition to managing our current portfolio, I was also focused on growth and worked closely with our sales / business development teams to identify opportunities, build relationships with potential customers, develop proposal strategies that differentiated our approach, and deliver successful proposals.Results highlights include:- Led two contract turnaround efforts resulting in additional $13M revenue and $750k gross margin through contract extensions.- Managed, led, won, and phased-in proposal effort for operations support contract to US Army worth $10M in revenue and $600k in gross margin.- Engaged NASA leadership during Government shutdown to press for continued payment for employees on the Jacobs contract despite lack of work, resulting in Jacobs being authorized to continue invoicing and collecting an additional $2.3M in revenue and $225k in gross margin while providing income and stability to employees.- Ensured employee safety through frequent engagement, communication, and relationship development- Developed customer relationships to understand needs and deliver effective solutions- Led and supported business development activities including opportunity identification as well as proposal development and management for technical, past performance, and cost volumes.
