As I was getting to know our customers and the employees providing the technical support I was able to quickly build rapport and trust across each of the ten sites that reported to me by being transparent with my objectives and sincere in my communication style. I also inherited a seriously troubled contract and devoted much of my time in the early months improving our performance and successfully turning around our customer’s perception of us. In addition to managing our current portfolio, I was also focused on growth and worked closely with our sales / business development teams to identify opportunities, build relationships with potential customers, develop proposal strategies that differentiated our approach, and deliver successful proposals. Results highlights include:- Led two contract turnaround efforts resulting in additional $13M revenue and $750k gross margin through contract extensions.- Managed, led, won, and phased-in proposal effort for operations support contract to US Army worth $10M in revenue and $600k in gross margin.- Engaged NASA leadership during Government shutdown to press for continued payment for employees on the Jacobs contract despite lack of work, resulting in Jacobs being authorized to continue invoicing and collecting an additional $2.3M in revenue and $225k in gross margin while providing income and stability to employees.- Ensured employee safety through frequent engagement, communication, and relationship development- Developed customer relationships to understand needs and deliver effective solutions- Led and supported business development activities including opportunity identification as well as proposal development and management for technical, past performance, and cost volumes.
