Athletica Sport Systems is the world leader in the design, engineering, innovation and manufacture of dasher board systems (hockey boards) for all levels of hockey from backyards to the pro’s. Athletica is the Preferred Rink Equipment Supplier to the National Hockey League®, the American Hockey League, and USA Hockey,As a CAD Designer at Athletica my main responsibilities are:- Work closely with the Project Managers to create layout drawings for new dasher board systems using AutoCAD 2019 (board layouts, glass layouts, penalty boxes, player's boxes etc...)- Then using SolidWorks 2019 and DriveWorks, generate 3D models of the dasher board system - From the 3D model, shop drawings for the floor are created and collected into a shop package.- For each panel verify code for the CNC and metal cutting robot is correct before releasing the drawing package. Any errors in the code must be corrected and the code re-generated until perfect.Some prominent examples of 3D modeled dasher systems I have created at Athletica are:- new hockey board system for the Staples Center (LA Kings) and Bridgestone Arena (Nashville Predators (a photo of which can be seen in the profile banner above))- practice rinks for the San Jose Sharks and Tampa Bay Lightning- new hockey board system for Mosaic Place (Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL)- new hockey board system for Bentley University (Bentley Falcons of the NCAA Div. I hockey league)

-Create all types of custom industrial scissor lift tables using AutoCAD 2017 and Autodesk Inventor 2017 with typical capacities ranging between 2,000 - 20,000 lbs. -Process orders for other equipment such as: customized bin tilters, tilt tables, fork truck maintenance lifts, and upenders. -Creating custom dock levelers (hydraulic, mechanical, vertical storing, air powered) is also a major responsibility as a CAD Design Technician at Pentalift.Other tasks include:-Creating approval, concept and confirmation drawings for the customer.-Creating work order packages for the shop floor when an order is processed.-Creating purchase requisitions for custom parts which need to be ordered (linear bearings, casters)-Troubleshooting and problem solving with the welder/fitters on the shop floor.-ERP BOM maintenance and creation in Visual Manufacturing.-Maintain and update all owner's manuals using the InDesign software program.Being in a fast paced job with many responsibilities, time management, while heavily focusing on detail (sweating the small stuff) has been developed into a strong asset. Taking the extra time at the end to double and triple check work orders can save time consuming rework down the road.An example of some of my work can be seen in the videos below.

Ensured each projector was working properly and error free after coming off the assembly line. Test duties included performing optical measurements for image brightness, optical uniformity, and verifying the projector was operating in the correct colour spectrum. Quality Assurance duties included checking for material defects and workmanship errors.If the projector did not meet Christie’s standards, repair was required.Clear communication of faults was an important factor of ensuring standards were upheld.One example of the type of projector model that I was responsible for testing can be seen below.
